Girl with the Bluebonnets
It was a beautiful morning. The girl watched for what seemed days, years, centuries as the sun crept over her sleepy hamlet, waking it up where it lay tucked in a forested thicket on the mountainside. Who could trade this spot for the world, she wondered. The tinkle of cowbells drifted toward her, as she rose to walk past the hamlet's cottages. Stopping to look at a line of bluebonnet flowers that nodded shyly by the path, she ran home to change and get dressed, laying out the most beautiful, ivory dress made by her friend in the valley below. And as she slipped into its comfy nooks, she asked herself what she'd ever trade for a dress that bore the scent of home.
Girl with the Bluebonnets celebrates the romance of pastoral living amidst sleepy meadows and misty hills. Khadi summer silk and soft Chanderi cotton-silk are used to handcraft flowing maxi dresses, chic skirts, and sheer shirts. Block printed tiny wildflowers, dotting pasture ponds like speckles of polka dots, caress each piece. Snippets of discarded fabrics are rewoven and made into dresses and over layers. This is a slow made, zero waste collection tailored in a labor of love.
