In Praise of the Everyday: Arunima Ghosh

We spent a bright afternoon at Arunima Ghosh’s home in Camden, Northwest London, over beautiful oat lattes served in ceramics she made herself, talking about personal style, rituals, creativity and the quiet art of making an everyday life feel like your own.
A STEM graduate turned creator, Arunima Ghosh has built a creative practice around a slow, intentional life. At her home in Camden, we spoke about personal style, rituals, and why she believes you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to make the everyday feel meaningful.
For her, intentionality is all about noticing: looking a little closer, finding what brings you joy, and building a life that feels authentic.
1. From STEM to content creation, how did your creative pursuits evolve into a career and a form of personal expression?
Both have always run parallel to me. Unlike how the world often likes to fit us into a particular box, I’ve always believed creativity can be found in both science and the arts. I’ve always been drawn to art and music, even growing up, and learning Kathak from the age of three has cultivated that creative side of me deeply.
So, moving into content creation didn’t feel like I was leaving STEM behind. It felt more like giving another part of myself the space to grow. What started as a creative outlet gradually became a career, but more importantly, it became a form of personal expression. A way for me to explore my interests, ideas and the way I see the world.

2. Your home feels deeply considered. How much does your environment shape how you feel and work?
I’ve always loved having an interior that reflects my personality. It never had to be luxurious; it just had to feel like me. Even in my matchbox-sized university dorm, I made sure to create a little space that felt like home: the cutest duvet sets from Primark, printed pictures of my family and friends, the ticket from my first flight to the UK, and a good lamp.
I think being in an environment that feels clean, calm and truly my own allows me to live more intentionally. When my surroundings feel peaceful, I have more space to think, create and focus on how I can make things better. For me, it really comes down to peace and calm. My environment sets the tone for how I feel, and ultimately, how I work.
3. What's your relationship with getting dressed? Is it a ritual, a mood, something you put effort into every day? Tell us a personal style rule you always come back to.
I feel good when I’m well dressed. It’s the confidence. Life is too short to have a bad outfit day, so I don’t believe in saving the good stuff for special occasions. I wear it for myself, whether I’m going somewhere special or just going about my everyday life.
One personal style rule I always come back to is to be an observer. I think nature provides some of the best inspiration, especially when it comes to colour. Some of my favourite colour combinations have come from simply noticing the colours around me and bringing those unexpected combinations into the way I dress.

4. Is there a ritual or habit you'd never give up?
Making myself a good beverage to get through the second half of the day. It can be chai, matcha or coffee but it needs to be well made.
5. What drew you to Buna, and what do you enjoy most about wearing the clothing?
Buna embodies a slow way of life rooted in culture, craft and community, values that feel very close to how I like to live. There’s a beautiful duality to the clothing: it feels dainty and delicate at first, but there’s an underlying strength to it. Almost like someone who carries softness on the outside, but immense strength within.
6. What's the throughline in everything you create? What are you always trying to say?
I think the throughline is intentionality. I’m always trying to show that you don’t need to wait for a special occasion to make your everyday life feel beautiful or meaningful. Whether it’s what I wear, how I decorate my home, where I travel or even how I make my coffee, the images I take, I’m interested in finding beauty in the everyday and being more intentional about the things we surround ourselves with.
Ultimately, I think I’m always trying to say: pay attention to your life. Notice the little things, find what brings you joy, and create a life that feels like you, rather than one that simply looks good from the outside.
